CCAT TEAM POLICIES:

MEET TIMING ASSIGNMENTS

1.  PARENTS: DO NOT ENTER A MEET IF YOU ARE UNSURE IF YOUR SWIMMER CAN ATTEND, OR YOU HAVE ANOTHER OBLIGATION ON THAT DAY.

2.  PARENTS:  IF YOU ENTER A MEET, YOU ARE ALSO MAKING A COMMITMENT TO DO YOUR DAILY TEAM TIMING OBLIGATION AT THE MEET.  YOU WILL BE OBLIGATED TO TIME ONE SESSION FOR EACH CHILD YOU HAVE ENTERED INTO THE MEET. * TIMING FOR DISTANCE RACES (400/500 FREE, 800/1000 FREE, 1500/1650 FREE AND 400 IM, THAT IS NOT PART OF THE REGULAR MEET FORMAT) WILL NOT EXCUSE YOU FROM YOUR REGULAR TIMING SESSION.

IF YOU CANNOT OR WILL NOT TIME, DO NOT ENTER YOUR CHILD IN THE MEET.

PRACTICE GROUP GUIDELINES/REQUIREMENTS

MIGHTY MITES
Age:  5-8 yr olds

Skills:  Child should have previously had 2 summers of swimming lessons
Child must be able to perform freestyle (front crawl) arms over the water, with face in the water, blowing bubbles (for 20yds), and be able to float on their back with face out of the water.

Attendance:  No minimum

NOVICE
Age: 8-11 yr olds

Skills: Child must be able to perform all four competitive strokes to the Head Coach satisfaction, and be able to complete multiple lengths of the pool without stopping for rest.

Attendance: No minimum practice; swimmers need to attend at least three CCAT monthly Novice meets from March through September.

AGE GROUP
Age:  8-16
Skills: 10 and unders must have achieved "Red times" (boys time standards, girls time standards) in at least 3 events of 50 or 100 yards.
Swimmers must be able to successfully complete the set of 10 x 50 Freestyle on: 55 seconds.

Attendance: No minimum

PRE-SENIOR
Age:  12-18
Skills: Swimmer must be able to successfully complete the set of 10 x 100 Freestyle on 1:30 interval.
Swimmer must have achieved 11/12 "Blue times" (boys time standards, girls time standards) in at least 5 events.

Attendance:  Swimmer must average 4 practices per week per month

SENIOR
Age:  13-18, and college swimmers

Skills: Swimmer must be able to successfully complete the set of 10 x 100 Freestyle on 1:20 interval.
Swimmer must have achieved 13/14 "Blue times" (boys time standards, girls time standards)in at least 3 events.

Attendance:  Swimmer must average 5 practices per week per month

SENIOR ELITE
Age: minimum 15 yrs old
Only by Head Coaches invitation
Attendance: 100% of all practices

*Promotion or demotion from one group to another group is the decision of the Head Coaches.

Parents should not approach anyone but the Head Coach regarding the swimmer promoting to another group.  Swimmers are constantly evaluated for workout and competition attendance, effort, ability, and maturity.
